About Sally

About 20 years ago I became interested in counselling while I was a volunteer in a Hospice. I studied Counselling and Psychotherapy for 5 years and then was awarded a degree.

NHS & Private Practice experience

I have worked for the NHS in a hospital setting and for the last 7 years in private practice. I had a private practice in central London for some years but am now almost exclusively based in the Wiltshire/Berkshire border. I see clients in my practice from my home but can also see clients in the local doctor’s surgery.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychology (accredited) which is a governing body for practitioners. The BACP has a very strict code of ethics and stringent guidelines which I adhere to. I attend refresher courses and seminars regularly which keep me fully up to date with all the latest research in my field.

I also attend personal supervision regularly which is also a requirement of my governing body.

Thank you Sally - when we both decided to consult you I wondered how it would go and I was amazed to find how easy you made it for each of us to tell our side of the story.

Both Dan and I have been so impressed with the way you made sure that both of us could talk and listen - and understand. We have not solved everything yet but we both think that we now know how to move forward.

I got myself tangled up in a few issues while at uni and my mother suggested that I talk to Sally. At first I was worried that it would all be played back to my parents, but I need not have worried. Sally promised that every conversation would stay between the two of us and it has - no one else knows anything.

I was so pleased to be introduced to Sally Jarvis. I started by being uncertain that this was the right route for me but it turned out to be exactly right. Sally quickly understood all my concerns and her caring approach set my mind at rest. From there we were able to move on to deal with the roots of my issues - and, from there, the darkness started to ease and the clouds cleared.

    Thank you so much, Sally.

Sally Jarvis is the most accomplished psychotherapist I have consulted. A complete professional with a very distinct understanding of humanity, evidently born of long experience. Engaging yet distanced; persistent yet caring; plain speaking and focused on results, Sally Jarvis clearly wanted to make a difference to my life – and succeeded.
